Pathways to homelessness, click here

Mission Australia believes all Australians should be able to live in a safe, secure and affordable home and is committed to eliminating homelessness in Australia. We recognise that people become homeless due to a range of issues including unemployment, poverty, mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse and family breakdown.

These are issues that can affect any one of us unexpectedly and leave us in need of assistance. Our primary focus is on preventing homelessness from occurring by providing, financial counselling, family and individual support, mental health support and employment and training assistance to help keep people in their homes. However, when homelessness does occur, we work to satisfy immediate needs with crisis and transitional accommodation and work to address the underlying causes to help prevent people from becoming trapped in a long-term cycle.
